Mission accomplished in Grade 1 listed, historic Sherborne Abbey, with the installation of cabinets designed and built to conceal unsightly modern electrics, in accessible cupboards, which discretely blend with their ancient surroundings.
Fullers have recently completed this project, which involved the design and installation of two tall oak cabinets, with panelled doors to conceal the electrics housed in this area of the ancient Abbey.
The cabinets made in a combination of veneered and solid European oak sit either side of an ancient door with a top centre section over the door. The top section has a removable access panel on magnetic catches and is machined with recessed finger pulls. The left hand side has a removable top panel with a brass hatch, ring pull handle for access to the cabling.
The cabinets are finished in a medium oak stain and polished in a clear satin lacquer to blend with the existing wood in the building.
When a member of the clergy team at Sherborne Abbey commented that the cupboards looked as if they had always been there, it was, a welcome compliment, confirming the mission as set, had been accomplished.
